Zeus created Pandora as a revenge to Prometheus, for the whole fire thing. She was beautiful and seductive, crafty with weaving, and most of all - curious.
Whoever created Sardinia most definitely created it as a revenge to the people who doesn’t get to live there. Think of it - if Sardinia was a woman - sea wave eye color, hair soft and wavy as its sandy beaches and all the curves and bends in the right places... Aphrodite herself would never leave her house again.
Not surprising that Sardinia was always an object of desire: for romans, byzantines, vandals, Arabs, Austrians and Spaniards. And nowadays - for the rich and famous - the dreamy destination only a rare mortal can afford.
But Sardinia is also crafty – she has woven her own history from the most surprising threads, and it still holds together - intertwined as tightly as the gordian knot.
On our tour we will turn away from her posh, millionaire infested facade and delve straight into her bountiful natural curiosities: cliffs that pierce the sea waves, valleys wrapped in mist, villages lost in time, abandoned mines and prehistoric ruins that still keep memories of bygone eras. We will enjoy Sardinia’s rough wilderness, traverse her most private regions, brave her stony ancient tracks, and then indulge ourselves in the simple pleasures of camping life: sunsets, campfire, chatting and stargazing... Even if Sardinia was created as a revenge, it was also created for pleasure. And a pleasure of getting to know her will be ours!
Living conditions:
Most nights we spend in an idyllic wild camp site surrounded by unscathed nature. We enjoy the evenings in good company by the campfire. As it can get colder at night at higher altitudes, warm clothing and good personal camping equipment should be available.
Day three we spend in typical agriturismo – farming homestead with restaurant and sleeping arrangements.
Day five we stay in camping with showers. Bungalows available for additional cost.
Driving conditions:
On this trip we will encounter various terrains. Mostly rocky roads, some gravel roads as well as some dunes. Occasionally we will have to negotiate more challenging rock-crawling section that we will have to overcome together. On this tour we reach the highest navigable point at an altitude of 1800 meters. This tour is equally appealing for off-road beginners, overlanders and 4×4 adventurers interested in exploration and culture.
